Crushed quartz sand is a raw material that is obtained by grinding natural quartz extracted from mountain deposits. Differs in purity and uniformity of structure, and also an uneven chipped form. After crushing, the material acquires such properties as high strength and abrasiveness. The composition of the raw material contains the maximum amount of silicon dioxide, as well as the minimum percentage presence of clay impurities. A large amount of silica and a minimum amount of impurities - all this determines the optimum resistance of the material to acids, as well as good refractory properties. Depending on the method of crushing and the subsequent purpose of the material, the grain size of crushed quartz can vary from 0.05 to 4 cm. APPLICATIONS OF QUARTZ SAND The use of quartz sand is practically unlimited. It is resistant to chemical, mechanical and atmospheric influences, and also has good fluidity. This material is used at: - production of dressing for roofing material; - decorative plaster; - production of refractory products; - steel production; - sprinkling of sports grounds and personal plots; - making molds for the foundry industry; - removal of metal corrosion; - production of enamels, varnishes and paints; - formation of a covering of floors of working rooms; - filtration of drinking water and industrial wastewater; - production of fine-grained concrete and polymer concrete; - manufacture of glass and fiberglass.
