All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Radiology and Agroecology, FSBII was organized in 1970, transferred to the Russian Agricultural Academy in 1991, and subordinated to the FANO in 2014. The Institute was established as the largest scientific center for the development and use of nuclear technology in agriculture. It is the only center of fundamental and applied research in the country to ensure the sustainable development of agricultural production and the production of environmental safety of products under the conditions of anthropogenic impact on the agricultural sector. In the first period of its existence, it solved the problems of agro-industrial complex stability for various scenarios of a possible nuclear conflict. The Institute conducts fundamental research on the effect of ionizing and non-ionizing (microwave, UV) radiation on natural and agricultural ecosystems, on the laws of migration of radionuclides and chemical toxicants, on the development of mathematical models and methodology risk assessment of industrial pollution.
