Injection molding
Injection molding is the most common method for manufacturing plastic parts. It is very technological, provides high performance, is well automated and does not require subsequent machining.
The thermoplastic materials used in injection molding have a wide range of physical and chemical properties and are easy to recycle.
The raw materials for plastic molding are thermoplastic polymer granules. Before production, the granules are dried to remove excess moisture, and then are poured into the receiving hopper of the injection molding machine. From there, the plastic is poured directly into the auger of the machine, where it is melted and, under the action of a piston, is fed with high pressure into the mold. The melt passes through the sprue channels and fills the mold cavity with great speed, after which the mold cools and the material solidifies, forming the finished mold.
