The meat and dairy industry of the Gomel region consists of 7 milk processing plants, 3 meat processing plants, 2 trading houses united in the Gomel Meat and Dairy Company Holding. The need to create the Holding was dictated by the structural, industrial and economic changes that took place throughout the entire period of its reform.
Modern meat and dairy plants, equipped with mechanized and automated lines for primary processing, production and packaging of products, carry out a full cycle of processing of raw materials, so they produce a wide range of meat and dairy products.
Existing production facilities of milk processing enterprises allow processing up to 2.5 thousand tons of milk per shift. In a shift, the enterprises of the association are able to produce up to 70 tons of butter, 650 tons of whole milk products, 10 tons of hard cheeses, 200 tubes. canned milk, 6 tons of SCM, 7 tons of casein.
The volume of production of meat products per day is: sausages - 118 tons; semi-finished products - 30 tons; canned meat - 10 tubes.
The sale of meat and dairy products to the domestic market is carried out through company trading, own trading houses, a distribution network and by concluding direct contracts.
98% of technical casein sold by the region’s enterprises, more than 60% of sold animal oil, 65% of dried milk, 50% of hard cheeses, 72% of canned milk, and meat products are exported for more than 35%. It should be noted that all our achievements are the merit of a close-knit, more than ten thousandth team, which for a number of years has ensured high rates of development.
