On January 16, 1896, a bacteriological office was opened at the veterinary department of the Stavropol Provincial Government for a more accurate diagnosis of infectious animal diseases.
By April 1, 1896, the office was equipped with equipment, tools, medicines and began practical work, which subsequently revealed the need to expand the production of immune vaccinations and biological products. The first biologic product produced was the anthrax vaccine.
So began its activity FSUE "Stavropol Biofactory".
