This section is responsible for the distribution of olive oil produced by our partners. Olive producers supply fruit to different countries and the group is responsible for their commercial sale, in bulk or in packaging.
Currently, the section consists of 110 connected cooperatives consisting of production of 75,000 farmer families who grow about 50 million trees per 400,000 hectares of olive groves in Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha (Ciudad Real and Toledo) and Extremadura (Badajoz). There are 25 employees in Cordoba, 25 in Malaga, Jaen 20 in, 19 in Granada, in Seville 13, 5 in Castile-La Mancha (1 of them are Montes-Norte groups, with a dozen mills), 2 in Cadiz and 1 in Badajoz.
The dominant olive varieties are Picual (mainly in Jaén, Córdoba and Granada), then Hojiblanca (Málaga, Córdoba, Seville and Granada). Other varieties are also grown, such as Cornicabra, Manzanilla, Verdiales, Lechines or Arbekina not. This wide variety makes Dcoop the only operator who can offer every type of oil the customer needs.
Olive-growing is designed to adapt resources, such as phytosanitary procedures or olive groves, ecological, to achieve the objectives of the cooperative, respecting the environment and reducing costs. A reliable farming and technical department is the key to this, as our professional team of Agronomic specialists provide free advisory services to olive farmers. Strict quality control is carried out from the moment the fruits on the tree for storage and packaging after harvest.
At Dcoop, we have our own brands in our olive oil market: Dcoop, Cordoliva, Tierras Altas, Acorsa, Unioliva, Torcaoliva ... this brand can be purchased in our cooperatives, in Dcoop stores, in large local retailers, as well as in export markets since most of these oils are sold packaged. To do this, we rely on our (wholly or partly owned) amenities in Villarrubia and Alcolea de Sinca (Cordoba), Antequera (Malaga), Santa Fe (Granada) and Guarroman (Jaen).
In addition to its own brands, Dcoop owns a 50% participation with cargill (a worldwide operator in vegetable oils) in the Mercaoleo joint venture, which has a packaging plant in Antequera, in order to effectively sell sales oil.
Finally, the shares of Dcoop Qorteba, in Alcolea de Cinca (Cordoba), which has large shops and an olive oil plant.
